"ROOTED IN THE RIVER.
FIGHTING FOR JUSTICE.
BUILDING WHAT’S NEXT."

MEET DEVIN
“I’m Devin Davis, a child of Louisiana’s River Parishes and a community organizer called to heal what’s been broken and reclaim what’s been stolen. My work lives at the intersection of faith, justice, and love for my people.”
“Why I Ran—and Why I’m Still Fighting”
LET”S STAY CONNECTED!
“Whether you marched with us, voted for us, or just found your way here—I’d love to stay in touch as we build what comes next.”

The issues that matter.
These aren’t just policies, they’re personal. They’re rooted in where I come from, what I’ve lived, and what our communities deserve. I believe in a future where justice isn’t a slogan, but a lived reality. Here’s what I’m fighting for:
-
The people of Cancer Alley have breathed polluted air and buried too many loved ones. Our communities are not disposable. I support a federal moratorium on new petrochemical plants, strict enforcement of environmental regulations, and direct reparations for the victims of toxic pollution. We must restore our land, our health, and our dignity—starting now.
-
As climate disasters become more common, the private insurance market is collapsing in states like Louisiana. I’m fighting for a federal public insurance program that insures homes in high-risk areas without a profit motive—so working families aren’t left behind after the next storm. This includes:
Funding research through the Office of Financial Research on long-term home insurance viability
Designing a federal program through the FIO to ensure low- and middle-income families have affordable coverage or relocation options
Reforming the disaster aid process to be equitable and timely
Repealing the McCarran–Ferguson Act to allow federal antitrust enforcement of insurance industry abuses
-
Healthcare is a human right. No one should suffer or die because they can’t afford care. I support publicly funded, universal health coverage that puts people over profits—and I believe Louisiana deserves better than a system that leaves thousands uninsured and unprotected.
-
Our economy should work for the people—not just corporations. I support a living wage of at least $20/hour, paid family leave, strong union protections, and investments in communities long excluded from opportunity. I’ve stood alongside workers—from port employees to Amazon staff to nurses—demanding fair treatment and fair pay.
-
True public safety means investing in people, not punishment. I support abolishing private prisons, ending cash bail, expanding reentry programs, and restoring full rights to the formerly incarcerated. We need justice systems that heal, not harm.
-
Black, poor, and working-class communities are systematically shut out of the democratic process. I support automatic voter registration, independent redistricting, an end to felony disenfranchisement, and public financing of elections to get big money out of our politics.
-
My path to public service is also a path of ministry. I believe justice is sacred work. We need leaders grounded in compassion, humility, and bold faith—who see their people not as problems to fix but as lives to uplift. Organizing is my calling, and love is my foundation.
